Old building safety to be inspected

VGP - The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee will conduct an initial inspection of the safety of old buildings across the city from August 16 to December 16.
Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung recently signed a decision on the investigation which targets to ensure the safety of old buildings in the city.
The investigation will cover residential buildings which were constructed before 1994, and office buildings and villas constructed more than 60 years ago.
Detailed assessments of the safety of these old residential buildings are scheduled to be made next year.
Earlier, two people died while nine others were injured after a house in Ha Noi collapsed on August 4. The four-story house in the Old Quarter reportedly fell down at 3:15 a.m. when there were 11 people inside./.
