Thai Festival 2018 held

VGP – The 10th Thai Festival has kicked off at Ly Thai To Monument area by Hoan Kiem Lake in Ha Noi.

The Thai embassy, Thai private companies and the Thai community in Viet Nam are jointly organising the festival.

The event has attracted 50 businesses based in the north-eastern region of Thailand, all companies and importers operating in Viet Nam and travel agents. They are presenting their products and look for chances to find partners.
The proceeds from the event will be donated to charity organizations in Viet Nam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Charge d’affaires at the Thai Embassy in Viet Nam Wanthanee Viputwongsa kul said that the two-day festival aims to not only enhance people-to-people exchanges but also introduce every aspect of Thailand to Vietnamese friends through diverse culture, delectable cuisine, and art performances.
Visitors to the festival had a chance to enjoy traditional dances, beautiful destinations, Thai street food and contemplate Muay Thai (Thai boxing).
In 2017, over VND500 million (US$21,800) was donated to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and Ha Noi Association for Victims of Agent Orange.

In commemoration of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025), a delegation from Hanoi, led by Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, who is also Deputy Head of the City's National Assembly delegation, on July 24 visited and presented gifts to several outstanding families of war invalids and martyrs in Hai Ba Trung Ward.
