Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan has asked construction units to accelerate and complete the Phung Khoang Lake Park project before the Lunar New Year 2025.
All components of the project must be completed soon to ensure the park is operational and ready to serve the public during the holiday season, he said at an on-site check of the project on December 31.
"During the construction process, no trees should be interfered with, relocated, or destroyed, as this could affect the area's landscape and the park's aesthetics," Mr. Tuan said.
"Located along To Huu Road and lying next to a private residential area, the park should have an open and airy space. There should be no high or rigid fences," he added.
The Deputy Chairman requested that the Department of Construction work with the Nam Tu Liem and Thanh Xuan district people's committees to manage and coordinate with construction units.
He emphasized the need for hands-on oversight, particularly in directing and adjusting design documents during the project's final stages.

According to Dao Tu Quy, Director of the Phung Khoang Lake Park Project Management Board, since the construction started on December 14, contractors have completed some 60% of the workload based on the original design.
Several key components, such as fences, sidewalks, the main entrance gate, sub-gates along To Huu Road, and internal roadways, are finished, he added.
"The project involves a significant volume of additional work," Quy said.
Many components, after 10 years of delays, have deteriorated and require substantial renovation and repair, which is more time-consuming than new construction.".
On November 20, Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Tran Sy Thanh urged the Phung Khoang Lake Park project to be completed and operational before the Lunar New Year in 2025. This would allow residents to enjoy recreational activities and watch fireworks at the park during the New Year celebrations.
Phung Khoang Lake Park is part of the New Phung Khoang Urban Area project, situated across Thanh Xuan and Nam Tu Liem districts. It is one of the city's long-delayed projects that has drawn significant public attention.
