In particular, in 2024, the Newspaper was honored by the Ministry of Information and Communications with a certification for excellence in digital transformation in journalism. This is an extremely important milestone and a proud achievement for the collective of those working at the Economic & Urban Newspaper, creating a foundation for creativity and breakthroughs in the coming time.
At the same time, the Newspaper successfully organized the launch ceremony of the integrated newsroom and the digital transformation ecosystem of the Economic & Urban Newspaper on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
The electronic publications and special pages of the Newspaper have undergone significant transformations, with content quality improving. The digital transformation in journalism has become more practical and yielded clear results, successfully building a digital ecosystem, diversifying journalistic products, applying modern journalism methods, and following professional operating procedures.
The number of readers continues to increase compared to the previous year, and the electronic newspaper ranks among the top 35 major media agencies in Vietnam, enhancing the reputation and brand of the Economic & Urban Newspaper both domestically and internationally.
In 2024, all staff, reporters, editors, and workers of the Newspaper united and focused on promoting collective strength and completing the political tasks assigned in all areas of work.
During the implementation process, the Party Committee and Editorial Board always coordinated closely and united with the leadership of the departments and unions within the organization, effectively executing the tasks assigned, based on the principle of democratic centralism, "collective leadership, individual responsibility," assigning specific tasks to each member.

For decisions related to work, policies, and the rights of workers, the Editorial Board has conducted consultations with each department of the Newspaper, ensuring that all staff and employees have the right to be informed, discuss, debate, and express their opinions. Based on these discussions, members of the Editorial Board continued deliberating and reached a unified opinion before issuing any decisions.
A strong renewal of the organizational structure, management, and staff allocation has been carried out, ensuring the right people are placed in the right jobs. This has significantly improved the productivity of civil servants and workers.
At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Ha Minh Hai, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements the Newspaper has made in the past. "These results reflect the lean management approach, strong digital transformation, and support for the spirit of the revolution against wastefulness. The leadership of the Newspaper has inspired the entire staff and workers to achieve impressive results."
Highlighting the outstanding achievements of the city over the past year, Hai said that the newspaper's contributions to propaganda and information work were highly significant.
Emphasizing that 2025 will be a year with many important events, Hai requested that the Newspaper produce specific products to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism. In doing so, the focus should be on professionalism, depth, and the unique identity of the newspaper, affirming its position and reputation. The Newspaper must lead in implementing the cultural industry, the knowledge-based economy, and creativity, closely aligning with the specialized nature of the economic and urban newspaper.
The newspaper needs to focus on policy communication, inviting top experts to provide solutions for the development and construction of the capital. This should include addressing issues such as "revitalizing" the rivers in the inner city, improving air quality, environment and raising awareness among Hanoi's citizens to build a bright, green, clean, and beautiful city.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized that the newspaper should continue to align with the national goals and the development of a cultured, civilized, and modern capital. He noted that the city's strategic direction is to recognize people as the center of all policies, with a spirit and attitude of service from civil servants.
Additionally, the city will continue with green and digital transformations, as well as the circular economy. Green and digital transformations must go hand in hand; administrative procedures should be simplified, eliminating administrative boundaries, intermediaries, and paper documents, as well as cash transactions.
It is also necessary to prepare well for the upcoming Party Congress at all levels, define seven strategic directions for Hanoi, and focus on communication about innovation and the development of science and technology.
Hai expressed his confidence that the newspaper would take new steps to successfully build a smart newsroom and move towards the comprehensive digitization of the organization, making the Economic & Urban Newspaper a smart newspaper.
Gratefully accepting the passionate and determined guidance from the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic & Urban Newspaper, Nguyen Thanh Loi, promised that the newspaper would continue to promote its spirit of innovation and creativity without fear of difficulties, striving for strong new developments.
