The first national conference recognizing 95 outstanding workers, who are also Party members.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on February 16 held the first national conference to honor 95 outstanding workers who are also Communist Party members.
Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that this event marked 95 years of the Party's leadership and reaffirmed the role and responsibility of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union in building the Party.
He emphasized their loyalty and determination to move forward under the Party's leadership.
Over the past 95 years, the Party has always focused on strengthening its organization, and developing and improving the quality of Party members are priorities, he said.
As the largest socio-political organization representing workers, the Vietnam Trade Union is deeply aware of its responsibility to contribute to building a strong and clean Party and political system, he added.
In recent trade union congresses, a key goal has been set: each grassroots trade union must introduce at least one outstanding member for Party training and admission every year.
From 2018 to 2023, more than 700,000 outstanding trade union members were introduced for Party consideration. Nearly 400,000 of them were admitted, 1.4 times higher than in the 2013-2018 period.
In 2024 alone, the first year of implementing the resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, 158,813 outstanding members were introduced for Party admission. Among them, 80,327 were officially admitted, with workers accounting for nearly 10% of new Party members.
To recognize Party members with outstanding achievements in labor, production, and Party building, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor decided to honor 95 exemplary workers and employees who are also Party members.
Half of them work in state-owned enterprises, while the other half work in non-state enterprises. The oldest honoree is 60 years old, and the youngest is 31 years old.
They are all direct production workers who are dynamic, creative, and have made significant technical improvements. They have high ideals, maintain good ethics, and set examples in their workplaces, earning respect from their colleagues.
Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man congratulated and praised the Vietnam Trade Union, Party members, union members, and workers for their contributions.
He especially acknowledged the 95 honored workers, who represent nearly 12 million trade union members and almost 18 million workers across the country.

He emphasized that after nearly 40 years of economic reform, under the Party's leadership, Vietnam's position and international reputation have improved significantly, providing a strong foundation for further development, he said.
As Vietnam enters a new development phase, he urged the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to effectively implement the Party's policies and the country's labor laws.
He called for better coordination in wage reform, pension adjustments, social security policies, and affordable housing for low-income workers.
Man also emphasized the importance of training and improving workers' political awareness, professional skills, and legal knowledge.
The National Assembly Chairman urged the trade union to strengthen efforts in educating, identifying, and introducing new Party candidates among workers.
He also stressed the need to listen to workers' concerns, protect their rights, and strengthen their trust in the trade union.
He encouraged the 95 honored workers to continue striving for excellence, sharing their experiences, and inspiring others.
Chairman Man called on the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, union officials, and workers to embrace a spirit of innovation, determination, and responsibility.
He highlighted key priorities such as Party organization reform, technological advancement, digital transformation, administrative reform, and the fight against corruption and wastefulness.
These efforts are essential for Vietnam's industrialization and modernization, with the ultimate goal of creating a prosperous, strong, democratic, fair, and civilized nation, he said.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor stated that the honored workers must meet strict criteria. They must be direct production workers or managers at the team leader level or below in enterprises with trade unions. They must have at least ten years of work experience and have been Party members for at least three years as of November 30, 2024.
From 122 nominations submitted by 82 organizations – including 50 from state-owned enterprises and 72 from private enterprises – the selection committee carefully reviewed and objectively selected the final 95 honorees. These workers are outstanding Party members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
