Hanel's units and individuals receive certificates of merit from the Hanoi People's Committee.
Electronics company Hanel JSC on December 17 received a Certificate of Commendation from the Hanoi People's Committee in celebration of its 40th anniversary (December 17, 1984 – December 17, 2024).
The company was founded on December 17, 1984, with the name Hanoi Electronics Company, and was changed to Hanel Joint Stock Company later. It was expected to foster a robust electronics and informatics industry for Hanoi.
Over the past 40 years, Hanel has made remarkable progress, driven by the vision, courage, intelligence, and determination of generations of scientists and employees.
Its growth was supported by guidance and assistance from central and local government authorities, as well as the invaluable trust and backing of partners and customers.
From a modest company with a single production facility and just over 20 employees, Hanel has evolved into a leading technology enterprise with 37 member companies and over 12,000 employees, including thousands of scientists and engineers.
Hanel now stands as one of Hanoi's most reputable brands, producing a diverse range of industrial and technological products in areas such as electronics, information technology, digital technology, industrial park infrastructure development, IT-focused zones, supporting industries, and logistics.
Between 2009 and 2014, Hanel received numerous accolades, including the Third-Class Labor Order (1994), the Second-Class Labor Order (2009), and the First-Class Labor Order (2014).
The company has also earned numerous certificates of merit and outstanding emulation flags from the Government, ministries, and the Hanoi People's Committee.
It also received prestigious honors, including being named one of Vietnam's Top 10 Most Reputable Technology Companies for four consecutive years (2021 to 2024), Top 10 Strong Brands in ASEAN for three consecutive years (2022 to 2024), the 2020 Vietnam Digital Transformation Award, the 2021 Smart City Award, and the 2022 Sao Khue Award.

Applauding and praising Hanel for its 40-year journey, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, credited the company's achievements to its officers, employees, and workers, who "have worked tirelessly to overcome many challenges and excel in their missions."
"Hanel's establishment and growth have helped the Capital realize its vision for an electronics industry. Your development means a significant contribution to Hanoi's development," he said.
The chairman highlighted the city's commitment to advancing digital transformation, fostering the digital economy, and building a digital society with robust reforms, particularly in high-level online public services and the application of digital technology in the operations of political institutions.
"This effort aligns with the guidance of the Party and General Secretary To Lam, positioning Hanoi and the nation to confidently step into a 'New Era of Development, a Renaissance for the Vietnamese Nation'," he said.
Chairman Thanh urged Hanel to continue building on its achievements, enhancing the quality and efficiency of its operations to meet the demands of the new development phase.
He called for the company to uphold its tradition of unity and creativity, closely aligning with the city's assignments.
"The immediate priority is to mobilize resources to fulfill its 2024 business and production goals, laying a solid foundation for 2025 and beyond," he said.
Thanh also encouraged Hanel to drive patriotic emulation movements and celebrate national and local milestones.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of a clear development strategy, with specific objectives for the short, medium, and long term. This includes focusing on digital transformation, sustainable growth, and green development.
Hanel is expected to continue researching and delivering "Make in Vietnam" digital products and services, as well as digital transformation solutions in key economic sectors such as transportation, natural resources, healthcare, and tourism, he said.
The chairman also tasked the company with improving its competitiveness, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and leveraging its internal strengths to create innovative digital products that effectively serve Hanoi's digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
Moreover, the company is urged to prioritize party-building efforts, fostering a clean and strong organizational structure, promoting intelligence, democracy, and solidarity, and ensuring the welfare of its workforce.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to three units and six individuals from Hanel for their outstanding performances.
During the ceremony, Hanel also honored its outstanding "Hanel Stars" and exemplary "Hanel Emulation Soldiers" while donating VND300 million (US$11,780) to the city's "For the Poor" fund.
