In 2025, Thanh Tri District will send 180 young men to serve in the People's Army and the People's Public Security Forces, achieving 100% of the assigned target. Among them, 116 young men voluntarily applied for enlistment and participated in a training course on Party awareness, while two outstanding recruits were honored to be admitted to the Party before enlistment. The quality of the recruits has improved, with 24.3% having university, college, or vocational education qualifications, and over 60% classified as having health levels 1 and 2.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Phong, who is also Chairman of the District Military Service Council, stated that in recent times, the district's Party organizations, authorities, and people have upheld the tradition of solidarity, carrying out regular and extraordinary tasks comprehensively and effectively. In 2024, the district met or exceeded all 19 socioeconomic development targets and all 18 Party-building targets.
With all 15 communes recognized as model new-style rural areas, Thanh Tri has become the first district in the city to be certified by the Prime Minister as meeting the standards for advanced new-style rural development. To date, the district has met 33 out of 34 criteria under the plan for upgrading to urban district status. At the same time, national defense and military affairs have been strengthened, while political security, public order, and social safety remain stable. The recruitment and selection of citizens for military service this year have been conducted transparently, fairly, and in accordance with regulations.

On this occasion, Chairman Nguyen Xuan Phong called on Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, associations, and mass organizations in the district to continue implementing effective military support policies, ensuring timely and practical care for the families of the recruits so they can serve with peace of mind.
On behalf of the 180 new recruits, Nguyen Hoang Anh Tuan from Ngu Hiep Commune expressed his honor in being born and raised in Thanh Tri, a land rich in patriotic and revolutionary traditions.
As a member of the young generation born in peacetime and benefiting from the country's renewal achievements, Nguyen Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his excitement and pride that his dream of becoming a soldier had come true. Now wearing the military uniform and becoming a soldier of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, he pledged before the Party, authorities, and people of the district to remain absolutely loyal to the Party, the nation, and the people. He vowed to uphold the spirit of determination to fight and win, the noble traditions of the People's Army and People's Public Security Forces of Vietnam, as well as the heroic traditions of Thanh Tri, and to always be ready to accept and excellently fulfill all assigned tasks.
